for everyone
English Letter Box in Oxlow Lane, Dagenham

There is nothing more red than an British letter box. I grew up with them. This one has "G R" on it for King George who died in 1952. I grew more up with letter boxes showing "E R" Elizabeth Regina, today's Queen of England.  Why they are red I do not really know. I took this photo last year in December when I was visiting my dad in Dagenham, Greater London

Hello Pat
Smart post box. I had a virus on my computer for the last few days. What a pain!!!!
I eventually got rid of it. It was a Trojan. It left a family set of viruses. I had to put the machine in safe mode then run Spy bot twice. I then rebooted to find I was still infected so I down loaded Adware Se and ran that. Up till now I am no, it looks like I am free and safe.
That's the worse Virus attack I have had, I could feel the pound notes falling out my pocket.
Well Pat stay safe, see you soon. Bye the Way I haven't been able to sought that new back ground out. I have decide I want yes Claret and Blue. If I made a large picture of Caret and Blue could I use that?

All the best
Frank

Welcome to PP. Our post boxes in Canada are red, too, but this one has a lot more character than the modern versions.

Well, the red really stands out in the streets, so I guess it's done so people can easily find the letter boxs. I love the photo!

I loved to see these boxes in London, they add so much charm to the whole city, as the phone booths, black cabs...Great idea for this week's theme!
